It was a gloriously sunny day and I knew I just had to go for a walk somewhere! I got in my car and just drove with no destination even considered! Hence I arrived at Cely Wood today by chance, I have been there before but a good few years back.
The car park was busy, no I'll rephrase that it was full, but I managed to squeeze my little Picasso into a tiny spot. The weather and the need to walk off yesterday's over indulgences meant that it was not only dog walkers but also what appeared to be family groups enjoying the December sunshine in a pleasant place for walking.
Surrounded by the ancient Warwick and White Post Woodlands, Cely Woods is home to meadows, a small wetland and many newly planted native trees. It has an excellent network of paths - many of them all-ability - and has a rich habitat including a stream straddle by a wooden bridge.
I struggled to photograph any birds but was pleased to see a Red Admiral on Boxing Day enjoying the sunshine too!
